How payouts work
You keep 70% of every sale. Connect your bank account once with Stripe, and your earnings are paid out automatically.
- 1
Sell an app
A buyer purchases your app on the marketplace. You earn 70% of the sale price, and it shows up on your creator dashboard right away.
- 2
14-day hold
Each sale is held for 14 days, the same as the buyer refund window. This protects you and the buyer if something goes wrong with the purchase.
- 3
Transfer to your Stripe account
After the hold, your share is sent to your Stripe account in our next daily payout run. No request needed.
- 4
Money in your bank
Stripe deposits it into your bank account, usually within a few business days.
Questions
How do I set up payouts?
Go to your creator dashboard and click “Set up payouts”. Stripe opens a short form, which takes a few minutes and only has to be done once.
What does Stripe ask for, and why?
Your legal name, date of birth, address, phone number, the last 4 digits of your SSN (sometimes the full number or a photo ID), and a bank account or debit card. Banks and tax rules require this for anyone receiving payments. Stripe collects and stores these details; x3lab never sees your full bank account or SSN.
What if I make a sale before I set up payouts?
Nothing is lost. Your earnings stay on your x3lab balance and are paid out after you finish Stripe setup and each sale's 14-day hold has passed.
Are there any fees?
You keep 70% of the sale price. x3lab's 30% covers hosting, the marketplace, and card processing fees, so there are no additional payout fees from x3lab.
Where can I see my balance and payouts?
Your creator dashboard shows your balance and how much has been paid out. “Manage payouts” opens your Stripe dashboard, where you can see each deposit and update your bank account.
What happens if a buyer gets a refund?
If a sale is refunded or disputed, your share of that sale is cancelled. That's why each sale waits 14 days before it's paid out.
Do I have to pay taxes on my earnings?
Yes, you're responsible for taxes on your earnings. Where required by law, you'll receive a tax form (such as a Form 1099) for the year.
